The Federal Government has signed a major contract with InfoWest International Limited for the construction of Section 1 of the Calabar-Abuja superhighway, a key project under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. This transformative project will significantly reduce travel time between the Southeast and Abuja, enhancing trade and connectivity across six states. Senator David Umahi, the Minister of Works, praised the project for its strategic role in boosting regional trade, fostering inter-regional cooperation, and stimulating agricultural development. Constructed with reinforced concrete, the highway reflects the government’s commitment to long-term infrastructure solutions, positioning it as a cornerstone of Nigeria’s economic diversification efforts.
