Elevating Aviation Standards: Special Airport Marshals to Enhance Services
By Admin User•June 25, 2026
In a move to boost service delivery and cleanliness at Nigerian airports, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, announced the introduction of Special Airport Marshals. These voluntary marshals, drawn from civil society, NGOs, and local communities, will conduct unscheduled inspections to monitor airport staff conduct and ensure facilities meet global standards.
Keyamo emphasized that the initiative aims to promote accountability and transparency in airport management. The marshals will report directly to the Minister, who will act on their findings to ensure optimal airport performance. This proactive approach underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing Nigeria’s aviation sector and improving the travel experience for all citizens.
