President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sworn in the Chairman and 37 Commissioners of the Federal Character Commission (FCC) at the State House, Abuja—underscoring renewed commitment to equity, national balance, and trust in public institutions.
The new FCC Chairman, Hulayat Omidiran, took the oath alongside commissioners representing the 36 states and the FCT, bringing a blend of legislative experience and public service exposure into an institution central to national cohesion.
Established by law and backed by constitutional provisions, the FCC is empowered to promote fair distribution of public posts and socio-economic infrastructure—helping to strengthen unity, transparency, and confidence in Nigeria’s federal system.
